ROCKVILLE, Md., March 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE: FRT) recently announced several promotions within the company to support its continued growth in 2016.

Federal Realty Investment Trust is an equity real estate investment trust specializing in the ownership, management, development, and redevelopment of high quality retail assets. Jeff Kreshek has been promoted to Senior Vice President - West Coast Leasing. In this capacity, Jeff oversees the day to day leasing activities of the west coast portfolio. Primary responsibilities include sourcing new retailer relationships, negotiating all leases and lease related documents, and overseeing and directing third party real estate professionals.

Prior to joining the Trust in 2011, Mr. Kreshek had over 20 years of experience in the positions of Principal in charge of leasing for The CIM Group and Vice President of Development Operations for Regent Properties, Inc. Before that, he formed and operated Vision Property Management. Mr. Kreshek received his undergraduate degree in Real Estate Finance, his Masters of Business Administration and his Masters of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.

Jan Sweetnam has been appointed Senior Vice President - West Coast Chief Operating Officer. Jan directs day to day operating and development activities for the Trust's western region, which consists of nearly 4 million square feet and 625 multi-family units. He also serves as a member of the Trust's Investment Committee. Mr. Sweetnam joined Federal Realty in 1997 as Acquisitions Director and in 1998 assumed the responsibility of redeveloping the Trust's Street Retail assets in Santa Monica, San Diego, Pasadena and Los Angeles, CA.

Prior to joining the Trust, Mr. Sweetnam was Vice President - Director of Acquisitions with CB Richard Ellis Investors, where he also served as Portfolio Manager, Marketing Director and Leasing Director. Before joining CB Richard Ellis Investors, he was employed by Julien J. Studley as a real estate investment sales broker in Los Angeles. Mr. Sweetnam holds a Master in Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Patrick Dillon has been promoted to Vice President - Construction. In this role, Patrick oversees the construction of the Trust's core shopping center portfolio. His projects include pad site development, shopping center expansions and renovations, and multi-family development.

Mr. Dillon joined Federal Realty in 1996 in the Property Operations group, he was promoted to Construction Manager in 2005, to Director - Construction in 2012, and to Senior Director - Construction in 2015. Mr. Dillon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management from University of Maryland University College.

Baris Ipeker has been appointed Vice President - Investments, Legal Counsel. Mr. Ipeker is responsible for structuring, negotiating and closing acquisitions, dispositions and property secured financings for the Trust's real estate portfolio.  He is also responsible for managing the Trust's trademark assets. Baris joined Federal Realty in 2003 as Senior Real Estate Counsel. In 2006, he was promoted to Director - Legal Counsel and in 2010, to Senior Director - Investments, Legal Counsel.

Prior to joining Federal Realty, Mr. Ipeker was an associate with Venable LLP, specializing in real estate transactional work.  Mr. Ipeker received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and holds a Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law

Andrea Simpson has been promoted to Vice President - Marketing.  In her expanded role, Andrea oversees marketing across the East Coast for the Trust's core and mixed-use portfolios, redevelopment and new development projects. In addition, she serves as the Trust's day to day media liaison. Ms. Simpson joined the Trust in 2011 as a Director of Marketing focused primarily on the development and opening of Assembly Row in Somerville, Massachusetts. In 2015, Andi's role was expanded to oversee marketing at Bethesda Row, Pike & Rose, Linden Square and the Miami portfolio.

Prior to joining the Trust, Ms. Simpson was Director of Marketing with Boston Properties. Before joining Boston Properties, she held several marketing positions with General Growth Properties. Ms. Simpson is a graduate of Regis College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Communications.
