ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 7, 2001--Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE:FRT) announced today that its Board of Trustees declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $.47 per share (indicated annual rate of $1.88) on its common shares.

The dividend will be payable July 16, 2001 to shareholders of record on June 25, 2001.

The Trustees also declared a quarterly cash dividend of $.49688 per share on its Series A Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Shares (NYSE:FRT pA). The preferred dividend will be payable on July 31, 2001 to shareholders of record on July 16, 2001.
